Is the r(dot) component a constant?

  1. You don't need r_dot_dot to solve the problem. (If that's what you're referring to)

    You just do the F = ma in the theta direction to find N, making sure to include the effects of gravity.

    N - mg*cos(30) = m(r*theta_dot_dot + 2*r_dot*theta_dot)

    From there just plug and chug.
