Problem 7-18

I am having problems relating the fixed axis K to j and k. One way I tried is K = sin(30)j +cos(30)k. Any suggestions?

  1. In this problem the coordinate system you want to project everything onto is the one attached to the base of the arm. It's labeled with lower case xyz. It's the opposite of what was done in 7-15.

    Your omega equation looks something like:

    omega=omega_onek+omega_fiveK

    Where K is the axis omega_five rotates around. You want to get omega_five onto the same axis as omega one, not the other way around.
