Problem 5/113

Is the motion of point B going to be circular around point O, which would then mean vB could then be drawn in the same direction as AB?

yes but no... it wouldnt be drawn in the same direction as AB, it has to be perpencilar to OB, which may be close to the same direction as AB...

so then how would i find the angle of ADE (assuming E is the non-moving center)

There are several routes that you could take to find angle ADE. Consider the following to be one of those:
* You can find angle DAO using the law of sines
* Angle DAE is the complement of angle DAO
* Length EA can be found using Pythagorean's theorem on triangle EAO
* Use the law of cosines to find length DE (at this point you know lengths EA and AD as well as angle EAO)
* Then use the law of sines to find angle ADE, if you need this angle [Note that you can find the speed of D by multiplying omega_AD by the distance DE. Angle ADE is not needed for that answer.]

As I said, there are other ways, some of which might be shorter than outlined above.
