Spring Problem Question

On problem 3 of the practice final exam (the spring problem), what do they mean by the amplitude of response at resonance. Is this the same as the steady state response??

I believe they are the same. Whenever a question asks for an amplitude i always just use equation (8/20) on page 623 of the book. It should hold true whether a dashpot is present or not, because if c=0, then the equation just becomes (8/17) on pg 622.

The amplitude of the response of a system at its resonant frequency will be unbounded. Or rather it will be bounded by the length of the springs and whatever rigid object is holding the opposite end of the spring.
