Will the exam cover just from 3D kinematics (lesson 12), or is it more of a cumulative exam covering from point kinematics (lesson 1)?

Please see the review video for the exam details.

Although material prior to Exam No. 1 is not officially covered on this exam, you will be expected to know your kinematics in order to solve kinetics problems.

Is there an evening reveiw session for this exam at any time?

Please check the "Exam page" in COURSE LINKS on the left side of the course blog for information related to Exam No. 2 and the review session for this exam.

Let me know if you have problems accessing this information.

I too cannot get the video to work

Could you let me what problems that you are having? Does the link not connect you with the page on which the video resides? Or, does it not play once you are there? Is it just the video or the audio that does not work or both?

The video works fine for me from my home computer.

An alternative to playing the video from the webpage is to download it to your computer. To do so, simply right-click on the icon on the blog. You will be given some options, one of which is to download the file. Let me know if you have problem with that.

I am sorry to hear of these problems. I will get on to fixing it once I know more about the symptoms.

The video is not working for me too. It seems it is downloading but for some reason there are no video or audio.

I've tried the video on both my windows and mac computer. I've tried streaming it and downloading it, and in all cases it appears loaded (can see first frame of video), but it will not play. I also cannot skip ahead in the video.

I successfully downloaded the video using firefox and an add-on called "DownloadHelper", which is specifically designed to download movies and pictures from websites. To get this add-on, just go to: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=downloadhelper&cat=all

I also did not use quicktime to view the review video. I suggest using the VLC media player which can be found at:

I now have a fix on the review video for Exam No. 2. [This video was produced from two clips that I joined together. I was not aware that I had to re-produce the video prior to posting.]

Thanks to Paul Burgeson for his discoveries in getting around the problems with the original video. Hopefully these fixes will not be needed for the video that has now been posted.

Apologies again for the problems with the original video posted.

I noticed many of the exam review questions involve moving reference frames. I feel as if I should spend more time reviewing the particle kinetics involving Newton's laws. I understand that we still need to know how to solve them, but I was just curious if these moving reference frame problems will be covered on this exam, or if that was primarily in the first exam.

We covered the 2D moving reference frame equations on Exam No. 1. This topic will NOT be on Exam No. 2.

3D moving reference frame equations WILL be covered on Exam No. 2. You should expect to find something on 3D kinematics on Exam No. 2. Please see the review video for Exam No. 2.
